Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian/American media critic, is also a speech writer. Feminist Frequency hosts videos, commentaries and analysis of the way in which popular culture portrays women. Anita Sarkeesian was a Canadian and American feminist media critique. Passionate about issues of gender identity and feminism from the age of 7, she started her site Feminist Frequency in the year 2009 when she was studying at the university. An ambitious woman who wanted to start a web-series examining the representation of gender in video games, she was targeted by an online campaign. The incident did not deter her, but instead strengthened the determination of feminist media critic. Numerous awards have been awarded to her for all of the contribution she has contributed to. Anita Sarkeesian is an award nominated media critic as well as the creator of Feminist Frequency an educational and non-profit organization focused on the portrayal of women in pop media narratives.
