Robyn Rihanna Fenty [2] (/ri’aen@/ (listen) (listen) -@;[3][4][n 1 was born on in February 20, 1988. She is a Barbadian actress, singer, and businesswoman. Born in Saint Michael and raised in Bridgetown, Barbados, Rihanna auditioned for American record producer Evan Rogers who invited her to the United States to record demo tapes. Following her signing with Def Jam, in 2005 the singer quickly became famous when she released her two first studio albums, Music of the Sun (2005) and A Girl Like Me (2006). These albums were heavily influenced by Caribbean music, and reached the top ten spots on the US Billboard 200 Chart. The third album of Rihanna, Good Girl Gone Bad (2007) comprised elements of dance music and established her status as a sex icon in the world of music. The top charting single "Umbrella" gave Rihanna her first Grammy Award and catapulted her into international fame. She continued to mix pop, dance, and R&B genres on her next album, which included Rated R (2009), Loud (2010), Talk That Talk (2011), and Unapologetic (2012) which was the final of which was her first Billboard 200 number one. These albums produced a number of chart-topping singles , including "Rude Boy", “Only Girl (In the World)," and "What's My Name?" ", "S&M","We Found Love" "Where Have You Been” and "Diamonds". The album she released on her eighth, Anti (2016), featured a brand new control of her creativity after her separation from Def Jam.
